Construction Specifications

Our construction specs and materials are quality whether for our large barns or the smaller buildings. Each photo of a barn in our gallery has construction specs for that building along with a larger photo. Below is just a quick introduction.

Foundation:
6x6 Pressure-Treated Timber on all run-ins, shed rows, and modular barns and concrete pier footings for large modular barns, and large shed rows and run-ins. Especially those with a big overhang.
Framing:
4x4 and 2x4 oak framing on most of our smaller buildings. Large modular barns use 6x6.
Siding:
1x10 Tongue & Groove Eastern White Pine Siding or 29-Gauge Metal Siding. Your choice. Can we do Board and Batten? Yes, by special request.4x4 and 2x4 oak framing on most of our smaller buildings.
Roof:
2x4 or 2x6 SPF Rafters or 2x8 or 2x10 rafters in large barns depending on design. Roof can be either 30-year asphalt shingles or 29-gauge metal.4x4 and 2x4 oak framing on most of our smaller buildings.
Interior Kick Boards:
1x8 Oak Boards in Run-ins and Shed rows. 2x8 yellow pine tongue and groove kick board in Modular Large Barns. The YP kick board could be available on other buildings by special request.
Windows and Doors:
We used vinyl windows in all our structures, either 3x2 in smaller buildings or 4x3 in the large modular barns. Those in direct contact with horses will have a guard on them. Doors may vary in both style, material and size depending on your needs and specifications.
